It’s important for all soldiers to be properly outfitted when they enlist in the Army. And yet, it can be difficult to find the right size of boots for many new recruits. By shopping online, you can ensure that you are getting precisely what you need.

The Army’s standard dress and service uniforms are available in sizes that vary from 36 inches to 46 inches in length. So, a boot that will fit a new recruit’s foot should be at least 35½ inches long. The fit should be snug, but not uncomfortable. High-top military boots will provide the best protection for the feet and lower legs.

In the military, it is important to know how to wear your boots. First of all, the Army style is a lace-up style of boot that ties with a leather strip around each ankle.

Army Boots Overview

For people who have wider feet or lower arches, it may be hard to get on and off of the boots while they are laced up. Also, it can be difficult to have your pants tucked in with shoes on if your boots are laced up.

Uncomfortable for people with allergies to the materials

A second problem is that they can be very uncomfortable for people with allergies to the materials. The most popular leather material for boots is nubuck leather, which is a horse hide with a laminated outer finish.

This material usually has a finish of polyurethane, which cannot be removed from the nubuck leather completely. If you have an allergic reaction to this material, you will have to pick another boot material or have the allergy treated so it doesn’t become a big problem later on in your life.

These can be very heavy

The final problem with these types of boots is that they can be very heavy and they can also affect your foot’s blood circulation. If you have a minor issue with hemorrhoids, this could be an issue as well as the weight.

How Are Army Boots Made?

Army boots are a requirement for military personnel. The boots, which come in many different styles and heights, ensure a comfortable and protective fit. Today’s army boots can be made from leather or synthetic material which will vary the cost of the boot as well as its durability. There are different parts of the army boots that includes: Uppers, Insoles, Laces, Outsoles, Rubber-like products for the sole.

The “vamp” part of the boot

When it comes to basic construction of an army boot regulation, there is a vertical seam which runs along the side of your calf. This is known as the “vamp” part of the bootFurther up on your leg you will find another seam on top of each other called “welt”. Between these two seams is where the upper, insoles and other parts are sewn together. The material itself will be stitched to the uppers giving it its shape. After this step has been completed, the boot can now be sent for industrial processing.

Materials

Leather to make boots

When army boots were first made, they were made with wood or metal soles which would give general support to the foot while protecting against general wear. While this has changed today, you will still find a wide variety of soles for the army boots.

The military boots are given different names depending on what part of the boot it is. There are two parts which make up the upper, known as the instep and heel. The instep can be open-top or closed-top.

On a closed-top instep, there is a canvas material which wraps around your ankle and calf area. On an open-top instep, the canvas material does not cover your ankle and calf.

The heel

There are three different styles of heels including the roper, which has a standard 1-1/8” heel; the engineer, which has a 1-1/4” heel; and the plantation, which has a 1-3/8” or 1-3/4” heel. The sole is made up of four different parts. These parts are the insole, midsole, outsole, and heel counter. The insole is padded with cork material to give you extra comfort when wearing the army boots.

Only half of the toe area has a hard rubber sole attached to it while the rest of the sole material is made out of leather. During this part, the heel counter is being attached to each boot. This is what keeps your heel in place while you are wearing your boots. Once the heel counter is in place, it goes around your heel and then attaches to the upper. The outsole is the last part to be attached to the rest of the boot making sure that it stays in place while you are wearing them.

Army Boots Regulation

Your boots need to be polished and clean at all times

There is a lot of work done in the army, we get dirty but we also clean up after we’re done with the work. This means that we wash and polish our boots too after we’ve finished with our duties and this is not something that you should avoid doing at all times.

This means that you may have to spend some money on cleaning agents because your shoes are going to get dirty fast. This can be very expensive, but you can also find ways to save money on cleaning your shoes if that’s the only thing that bothers you about this rule.

If you don’t want to polish your boots, you cannot join the army. This is a must and a rule if you want to enter the army and be a soldier in it.

Cannot get your boots personalized

If your footwear shows any design, ornamentation or advertising other than the manufacturer’s name or identification tag, it has been issued in violation by regulation and must be removed from military service. This means that you cannot get your boots personalized because doing so will break this regulation and get you into serious trouble with the army.

Soldiers need to wear their army boots all the time

No one is exempt from this kind of footwear. Soldiers need to wear their army boots all the time, whether they are on duty or not.

There are certain activities that the army allows us to do while we’re off duty and if you’re not dressed up in these kinds of shoes, you won’t be able to enjoy them. For example, you won’t be able to go out to eat in restaurants if your shoes can’t say “Army” or “US Army” on them.

If you can’t find any kind of boots that say “Army” or “US Army” on them, you cannot go to the restaurant. This also means that you need to clean and polish your boots regularly and don’t try and save some money by not doing this. You will not be allowed to join the army and also be a soldier in it if you do not follow these rules and regulations.

This will give them the impression that you do not mind following all the rules and regulations that they have set up because you do not care about yourself or how your life turns out as long as the army is kept safe and runs smoothly. This is why you need to follow these rules and regulations even though you might not agree with them.
